ajag37 Brilliant Jo and all, really enjoyed listening to this. Great poetry and music and voices. Some of my favourite tracks, if I were to pick, are angel, cloud chaser, search for trickle down and gaslight, but to hard to call. Nice production, well done. Thanks Tony and Teresa

All the holes in the sky - were letting in light We thought we could see deep into the night So, we scanned the sky, everything must be named You never know if you’ll see it again You never know You never know… We walked a crooked lane - under crooked trees Turned away from the sea where the salt wind blows fierce All the sailors have come ashore, silent, asleep They found a haven here in a place they didn’t seek You never know You never know… Who prays for your soul Whoever you are Wherever you’re from Whatever you were Whatever you’ve done The tide that takes us from each other The tide that takes us so far from home All the holes in the sky were letting in light And I hope and I pray deep into the night

When I’m tired And I need a dream Because the world will never be all you want it to be My heart is only heavy cos It’s full to the brim With that old thing called love that you gave to me Now I’m walking from Ware too late for the train Yeah I’m walking from Ware in the pouring rain But I’m never alone, it’s always the same You still you come running when I call out your name I tip my hat to you Every time the sun shines through I say Pip is that you? Running the sky to blue Chasing the clouds from my view You make me smile, that’s what you do rpt. There was never a person you would ever forget Cos down here by the river there’s no strangers Only friends you haven’t met – yet! You kept one eye on the future, so you never regret And wherever you’ve run to now I know you’ll be coming back I tip my hat to you Every time the sun shines through I say Pip is that you? Running the sky to blue Chasing the clouds from my view You make me smile, that’s what you do rpt.

Hold tight here comes the news He’s beyond you now, there’s nothing more to do A long time since he lost all faith Could never look life straight in the face Oh baby, baby, baby why wouldn’t you cry? When mother left with no goodbye Oh baby, baby, baby why wouldn’t you cry? All your life so much a child No need to search, the waiting’s done The story ended before it’s begun A different number though the rooms all look the same You check in here because you know what you’re getting Oh baby, baby, baby I know you tried Too far out to ever come back inside Oh baby, baby, baby I know you tried All you your life so much a child Sweet dreams, lullabies Promises and sleepy sighs All were goodbyes What use that carapace? Just a shelter made from loneliness Takes fair weather but then comes the foul It comes on with such a deafening sound Oh baby, baby, baby you wouldn’t hear the truth Only you who could cut yourself loose Baby, baby, baby you couldn’t hear the truth For the rain falls harder on a steel roof

I wander thro' each charter'd street, Near where the charter'd Thames does flow, And mark in every face I meet Marks of weakness, marks of woe. In every cry of every man, In every Infant's cry of fear, In every voice, in every ban, The mind-forg'd manacles I hear. How the Chimney-sweeper's cry Every blackning Church appalls; And the hapless Soldier's sigh Runs in blood down Palace walls. But most thro' midnight streets I hear How the youthful Harlot's curse Blasts the new-born Infant's tear, And blights with plagues the Marriage hearse.

Well I met a traveller from an antique land On the road well-worn and dusty He held in his hand a cup full of sand Said ‘I’m looking for the trickle down’ ‘For once, through this land a mighty river ran This was a land of plenty By such a plan that river’s been dammed This land lies dry and empty’ So, will you come with me? We’ll look for the sea Cos, they say that it is rising The word’s being going round That the poor in wealth will drown Just leave it to the trickle down But how long do you wait? For what will never be Well we looked for the sea But would you believe The only thing we saw was austerity Barely a drop and barely a leak Drip all of a trickle down And we couldn’t see a river, couldn’t see a brook Couldn’t see a puddle and I took a second look Nothing left to share cos it’s all been took Drip all of a trickle down Drip all of a trickle down Can you believe In what we truly really see? And we saw An ever-growing number of ever growing poor A world that goes without cos a few keep taking more A world that’s slowly dying brought down on its knees Rotten to its heart from a capital disease People on the move looking for a cure To endless persecution, hunger and war What is this wealth and what is it for? If it does no good what good is it for? Watching all the plastic as it washes on the shore Choking on the air and the heat just getting more Saw a forest burn, heard a child cry On old white man with the same old lie Can you believe We can change what we see? Now there’s never been a person on another don’t depend Sister, brother, neighbour or friend And we have to come together else we’re coming to the End How long can you wait? Until it’s too damn late

Gaslight 03:54
You'd keep me up all through the night Telling me what’s wrong is now all right You like to say it can’t be true If it hasn’t happened to you What is it that makes you so sure? Fighting phony battles while watching the world at war Now can you hear that hate filled call Lord Haw-Haw’s back and he’s laughing at you Another day of nothing much to do Used to call out abuse now you scroll on through It’s only names and sticks and stones For someone else and not your own Apathy is a luxury hard won Off the back of someone else’s suffering They fought their way out of factories Bombsites, slums, tenements, it never came for free Gaslight What do you tell the kids, their inheritance spent? Want them to move out, you can buy them a tent You call us woke ‘cos you’re so morally dead You’d need a compass to get out of bed And your gaslight Your only philosophy is to be free And you do it by keeping your head empty There’s no reason you should listen to me But one day you’ll need the truth to be seen And all you’ll get is that gaslight

The overhead spits and sparks Fire into the dark Another train pulls past Thought I saw the morning star I can’t be sure Standing this far Under the flightpath The station hand, he says ‘mind your step’ Saw the forecast, he looks ahead But nobody thought It would turn out like this Says I’m lucky I’m not going far And I say - to get here It’s taken all of my… Life Waiting for the morning light Stealing a breath and Holding a flame to the ice See her face How it lights up Phone in hand and a paper cup All those pictures and headlines To have a faith you have to find it first And soon the rush will catch us Up in its crush But if I could reach across the rails And gather every light that falls and fails In the iced over puddles Sweep together the fallen leaves Raise them up as wings To the empty air a vision bring Would the silence from the shadows speak There’s nothing lost There’s nothing found All that was, is all as now For if ever a man, he was wise He was nothing more - than a dream child Waiting..

Ollier 04:02
My dear Ollier here is something You will like for lots of good old reasons For those friends That were they with us now Would make a milder season of our age How the world has changed It’s hard to recognise Faces they all seem As strangers passing by But when you close your weary eyes On this little book of mine There’s a light from mind to mind A mark of love That survives My dear Ollier here is something You will like for lots of good old reasons For those friends That were they with us now Would make a milder season of our age
